Chief Executive Officer
David Lawler
David Lawler is Chief Executive Officer of Caturus, expanding his previous role as CEO of Kimmeridge Texas Gas and Director of Commonwealth LNG beginning in 2024.
Prior to joining Kimmeridge Texas Gas, Mr. Lawler served as Chairman and President of BP America from 2020 to 2023 as the chief representative in the U.S., leading the collective efforts of bp’s businesses with 30,000 employees and $150+ billion of capital deployed during his tenure. This included forming and implementing the company’s U.S. strategy targeted to achieve net zero by 2050. In addition to his role as Chairman and President of bp America, Mr. Lawler also served as Chief Executive Officer of bpx energy, bp’s onshore unconventional and midstream business. He led a $10.5 billion acquisition of BHP’s onshore assets, the largest acquisition for bp in more than 20 years.
His earlier energy experience included three years in executive roles at SandRidge Energy and PostRock Energy Corporation. These followed a decade at Shell E&P in leadership and technical assignments within the deepwater and gulf coast business units and providing business planning and support to the CEO of Shell Americas.
A Denver native, Mr. Lawler graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering before earning an MBA from Tulane University. He is also a Trustee of the Colorado School of Mines and a Director of the American Petroleum Institute, where he served on the Executive Committee from 2020-2023.

Tim Wyatt
Tim Wyatt is President of Caturus. He has over 20 years of experience in operations, marketing, shipping and trading.
Before joining Caturus, Mr. Wyatt held several senior executive positions at Hanwha Group, including Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer – LNG and Shipping and CEO, Hanwha Shipping. Prior to that, he spent 12 years at Cheniere Energy, culminating in his role as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy. Mr. Wyatt also previously served on the Board of Directors for Cheniere Energy Partners L.P. and NextDecade.
Prior to joining Cheniere, Mr. Wyatt was with Simpson, Spence and Young, where he was responsible for the gas business. His earlier career experience included positions with Spence and Young, Shell and Deutsche Bank.
Mr. Wyatt holds a B.A. Honors from the University of the West of England, Bristol.
Head of Upstream
Kjetil Jansen
Kjetil Jansen serves as Head of Upstream at Caturus. He previously served as Chief Development Officer at Caturus and its predecessor, Kimmeridge Texas Gas (KTG), following his promotion from Vice President of Geoscience.
Prior to joining Caturus, Mr. Jansen held senior roles at bpx, including Head of the Eagle Ford JV and Geoscience Manager for the Eagle Ford business unit. He also served as Development Integration Lead for bp’s $10.5bn acquisition of BHP’s U.S. shale assets in 2018, supporting the integration and development planning of the acquired portfolio.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Jansen served as Geoscience Manager for bp’s North America Lower 48 business and held geophysicist roles in Houston, Texas, and Stavanger, Norway. He began his career as a Geophysicist at Occidental Petroleum.
Mr. Jansen holds a B.S. in Geoscience from Eckerd College and an M.S. in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines.
Chief Financial Officer
Bryan Gunderson
With the formation of Caturus, Bryan Gunderson was named Chief Financial Officer, having previously served as CFO of Kimmeridge Texas Gas (KTG) following his earlier capacity as Senior Advisor to the company and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
Prior to Caturus and KTG, Mr. Gunderson was Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Daytona Resources and President and Chief Executive Officer of Falcon Minerals after being promoted from his role as Chief Financial Officer. Before joining Falcon, Mr. Gunderson served as an Executive Vice President of Finance at Nine Point Energy, completed a rotation program within General Electric’s Energy Financial Services business and worked at Lehman Brothers in the Natural Resources group.
Mr. Gunderson holds a BA from Bard College and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
Chief Legal Officer
David Lang
David Lang serves as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Caturus, following his promotion from Chief Commercial Officer and General Counsel at Commonwealth LNG. He has more than 20 years of experience in the energy industry.
In his prior role at Commonwealth, Mr. Lang led marketing and commercialization efforts focused on delivering LNG to global markets. He has extensive experience across the LNG sector, including the development of LNG projects from wellhead to burner tip, as well as assisting with the development, acquisition and sale of energy assets.
Prior to Commonwealth, Mr. Lang was a Partner at King & Spalding, Baker McKenzie, Vinson & Elkins, and earlier served as an Associate at King & Spalding. He began his career as a Reservoir Engineer at ExxonMobil before attending law school.
Mr. Lang holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and a J.D. from The University of Texas at Austin.
Chief Corporate Affairs Officer
Brian Cain
Brian Cain is Chief Corporate Affairs Officer where he leads the company’s public affairs, government relations, brand marketing, and media relations initiatives. Mr. Cain has more than 20 years of political, media, and energy policy experience, including service on public company executive teams.
Mr. Cain most recently served on the leadership team of Commonwealth LNG as Senior Vice President of Government Relations where he led efforts to achieve the first LNG export authorization in more than two years on the heels of the federal government’s pause on LNG exports. He came to Commonwealth LNG from GP3, one of the world’s largest political strategy firms, where he served as a partner in the firm’s Denver office.
Prior to that, Mr. Cain served as Senior Vice President and Chief Sustainability Officer for Civitas Resources, at the time one of Colorado’s largest upstream oil and gas companies. He also previously served as Vice President of Government Relations and Public Affairs for Denver-based Extraction Oil & Gas.
Mr. Cain’s earlier experience includes public affairs and government relations roles at Anadarko Petroleum and Chevron Phillips. He began his career as a journalist in central Texas after working on John Cornyn’s first U.S. Senate campaign.
Mr. Cain holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Tulane University.

Mary Kenner
Mary Kenner was appointed Chief Human Resources Officer at Caturus Energy LLC in May 2026, bringing more than 25 years of HR leadership experience across the energy sector.
She previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer of Freeport LNG and has also held senior leadership positions with Swift Energy Company, TXU Energy and Shell Trading. Her background positions her to attract and retain talent in a competitive market while managing complex organizational integration.
Ms. Kenner holds a BBA in Management from Texas A&M University, a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and an MBA from the SMU Cox School of Business.
As a community volunteer and philanthropist, Ms. Kenner also serves as Chair of the Leadership & Compensation Committee and was past board president of Houston’s Citizens for Animal Protection.

Charles van Schalkwyk
Charles van Schalkwyk joined Caturus as Senior Vice President, Health, Safety, Security & Environment in June of 2026, partnering with executive leadership to embed risk-informed decision-making, strengthen operational excellence, ensure regulatory compliance and foster a culture where people, assets, communities and the environment are protected.
Mr. van Schalkwyk brings more than 24 years of global leadership experience across health and safety, operational risk management, sustainability, crisis and emergency management and operational HSSE excellence. He previously served as Vice President of HSSE & Sustainability at NextDecade. He has also held senior leadership positions with Occidental Petroleum and Anadarko Petroleum, leading HSSE, process safety, operational risk and emergency management programs across global operations. Earlier in his career, he held roles with DNV, ERM and Shell, supporting major energy and infrastructure projects throughout the Americas, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
Mr. van Schalkwyk holds a several undergraduate degrees, in addition to a Master of Science in Human Factors & Kinetics from Rhodes University and an Executive MBA from University of Hull.
Founder & Managing Partner, Kimmeridge
Ben Dell
Ben Dell is a Managing Partner of Kimmeridge and oversees investment activity across the firm. He is closely involved in the screening of new geological opportunities and in the negotiation and execution of investment strategies.
Prior to founding Kimmeridge, Mr. Dell was a Senior Equity Research Analyst for Oil and Gas Exploration and Production (E&P) at Sanford C. Bernstein, where he was ranked first three times in the Institutional Investor Research Survey for coverage of E&Ps. Mr. Dell was also ranked for Natural Gas and for Oil Services and Equipment coverage. Prior to joining Bernstein in 2003, Mr. Dell was employed at British Petroleum (bp) in its M&A and Finance group. Before moving into the finance field, Mr. Dell also held positions as an exploration geologist and geophysicist across several of bp’s regional business units.
Mr. Dell is currently CEO of Chestnut Carbon, a nature-based carbon removal developer and is on the Board of Caturus HoldCo, LLC., an upstream operator with more than 1 Bcfe/d net production across ~280,000 net acres in Texas, and Commonwealth LNG, a 9.5 Mtpa LNG export terminal project located on the U.S. Gulf Coast near Cameron, Louisiana. He previously held positions as Chairman of the Board and interim CEO of Civitas Resources, Inc. (“Civitas”), a company that formed from the merger of Extraction Oil & Gas, Inc. and Bonanza Creek Energy, Inc. Mr. Dell earned an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in Earth Sciences from St. Peter’s College, Oxford.

Adnan Bu Fateem
Mr. Fateem is the COO of Mubadala Energy and has over 20 years of diverse experience in the energy sector, including exploration, field development, growth projects, reservoir characterization, and research.
Prior to joining Mubadala Energy, he worked as Senior Reservoir Geologist at Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company.
Mr. Fateem holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the United Arab Emirates University, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain.

Khaled Al Tamimi
Mr. Tamimi currently serves as the Senior Vice President, JV Management of Mubadala Energy.
Prior to joining Mubadala Energy in 2012, Mr. Tamimi began his career at ADNOC Group, a leading diversified energy group, where he held various drilling and advisor roles.
Mr. Tamimi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the UAE’s Higher Colleges of Technology and a degree in Contract Law from Harvard Law School.
Director, Marathon Petroleum Corporation
Mike Stice
Mr. Stice is a Director of Marathon Petroleum Corporation and the former CEO of Access Midstream (formerly Chesapeake Midstream Partners).
Prior to that, he spent 27 years at ConocoPhillips in senior roles, including President of Conoco Energy Solutions and later President of ConocoPhillips Qatar.
Mr. Stice holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Oklahoma, a master’s degree in business from Stanford University, and a doctorate in education from The George Washington University.
Former VP, LNG Trading and Origination, bp
Jonty Shepard
Jonty Shepard is the former Vice President of LNG Trading and Origination at bp and has decades of leadership experience in LNG trading, origination and portfolio development. Over a distinguished career with bp, he played a central role in building one of the industry’s leading LNG portfolios.
Mr. Shepard joined bp in 1992 and held roles across refining, upstream and corporate functions in Asia, Africa and Europe before becoming Global Head of LNG in 2006. In this capacity, he managed bp’s LNG business, overseeing a fleet of more than 30 LNG carriers on short and long-term charters, substantial regasification capacity across the UK, Spain and Italy, and equity LNG positions in Trinidad and Tobago, Egypt and Australia’s North West Shelf. He also expanded bp’s merchant supply portfolio, including projects such as Freeport, Coral, Woodfibre, Oman and Tortue.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Shepard led commercial operations in Vietnam and Angola, negotiating major gas agreements and supporting the development of critical infrastructure with global partners. Through these assignments, he gained significant experience operating in complex geopolitical environments and advancing large-scale commercial initiatives.
He was appointed a Director of the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) upon its formation in 2001 and received the World LNG Executive Award in 2024.
Mr. Shepard holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bristol and attended an Executive Course at INSEAD.
Mr. Jackson is a Managing Director of the Sustainable Energies Group of CPPIB located in Toronto. Mr. Jackson originates, executes, and manages investments in the upstream and energy transition sectors. Mr. Jackson joined CPPIB in 2017 and prior to that was employed in the energy sector for 18 years in various technical and executive capacities at several small to large cap, public and private E&P companies including Canadian Hunter Exploration, Burlington Resources and Temple Exploration I & II. Mr. Jackson is on the boards of VoltaGrid, LLC, and California Resources Corp. along with holding a seat on the Limited Partner Advisory Committee of the Quantum Capital Partners fund investments. Mr. Jackson previously served on the board of directors of Aera Energy LLC (“Aera”) until its merger with CRC in July 2024 and the board of directors of Encino Acquisition Partners LLC (“Encino”) until its merger with EOG Resources in August 2025. Mr. Jackson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical and Petroleum Engineering (Distinction) from the University of Calgary, is a licensed professional engineer and is a CFA Charterholder.

Chris Hanson
Chris Hanson is a Principal in CPP Investments’ Sustainable Energies Group, located in Toronto. Chris joined CPP Investments in 2019 and focuses on North American investment opportunities across the energy sector. Chris currently sits on the board of Chestnut Carbon, a Kimmeridge portfolio company targeting nature-based carbon solutions. Prior to CPP Investments, he worked in energy investment banking at CIBC Capital Markets and Macquarie Capital, focused on upstream M&A. Chris holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary.

Charles Griffie
Charles Griffie is a former senior energy executive with more than 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, with a particular focus on midstream and upstream asset development and operations. He currently serves on multiple boards.
From 2019 to 2022, Mr. Griffie served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Western Midstream Partners, LP, where he was responsible for engineering and operational execution across critical midstream infrastructure.
Prior to joining Western Midstream, Mr. Griffie was a founding executive and Senior Vice President of Operations, Midstream & Marketing at Olympus Energy. Earlier in his career, he held roles of increasing responsibility at Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, where his final role was Senior Vice President of US Onshore Field Operations at the time of Occidental’s acquisition of Anadarko.
Mr. Griffie serves as an independent director of Range Resources and Koloma and as a Board Observer at Caturus. He was recently recognized by the National Diversity Council as a Top 100 Black Executive and a Top 100 Diverse Leaders in Energy.
Mr. Griffie holds a B.S. from and an M.B.A. from the University of Colorado Denver.
Former CEO, SandRidge Energy
James Bennett
James Bennett is a former senior energy executive with more than 30 years of experience across operating leadership, private equity and investment banking. He currently serves on multiple boards and advises private equity firms on energy investments.
From 2013 to 2018, Mr. Bennett served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SandRidge Energy Corporation, having previously held the roles of Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer from 2011 to 2013. During his tenure, he led a complex operational and financial transformation at the company.
Prior to joining SandRidge, Mr. Bennett was a Managing Director and Partner at White Deer Energy, an energy-focused private equity firm investing across the exploration and production, oilfield services, equipment and midstream sectors. Earlier in his career, he held senior roles at GSO Capital Partners, including Managing Director, and served as Chief Financial Officer of Aquilex Services Corp. He began his career as an energy investment banker at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and as an analyst at NationsBank.
Mr. Bennett is Chairman of the Board of IOG Resources, LLC and a Board Observer at Caturus and Voltagrid LLC. He has previously served on the boards of Crown Eagle Energy LP, Tellurian Inc., Tapstone Energy, Energy Alloys Inc., SandRidge Energy Corporation, Cheniere Energy Partners LP, and PostRock Energy Corporation. His current nonprofit board memberships include the Foundation for Sunbeam Family Services.

Richard Punches
Mr. Punches is a Co-Founder of EOC Partners, where he oversees the firm’s efforts in sourcing investments, transaction negotiation, execution, monitoring of portfolio companies, and firm management and strategy.
Prior to founding EOC Partners, Mr. Punches was a Managing Director at EIG where he was Head of Oil and Gas and served on the Executive, ESG, and Investment Committees. During his seventeen years at EIG, Mr. Punches worked on credit, preferred, and common equity investments and served as a board member for several portfolio companies.
Prior to joining EIG in 2005, Mr. Punches worked for Merrill Lynch and CIBC World Markets. Mr. Punches received a B.S. in Finance from Tulane University.
