CAMERON, LA – (July 9, 2026) – Caturus, the company developing the Commonwealth LNG facility west of the Calcasieu River outlet near Cameron, has reinforced its long-term commitment to health and safety of the local community with a $1.5 million donation to Johnson Bayou/Holly Beach Fire District #10. The contribution addresses any potential gap in resources anticipated by the Fire District during the construction phase of Commonwealth LNG and further supports first responders who serve residents, businesses and visitors in Southwest Louisiana’s vital coastal communities.

The Commonwealth LNG project reached a positive Final Investment Decision (FID) in May and has begun site activities to construct the 9.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) LNG facility. Its development will bring construction jobs, long-term operations employment and significant economic activity to the region, while the company continues to emphasize local participation, stakeholder engagement and community investment as core parts of its approach.

The donation to the Fire District extends the community investment program the company had launched well in advance of construction activities for the LNG export terminal.  Caturus has said its goal is to be a long-term partner in the health, safety and prosperity of its Commonwealth LNG host community, with investments designed to address immediate local needs while helping strengthen the region for the future.

Among the company’s earlier community commitments was a $450,000 mobile healthcare unit donated to the Lower Cameron Hospital Service District. The unit helps meet the immediate healthcare needs of Cameron Parish residents, workers, tourists and volunteers while the community continues efforts to rebuild permanent healthcare infrastructure.

The company also awarded a $200,000 foundational grant to the Cameron Parish School Board to launch the Explorer Program, supporting student travel for leadership training and enrichment opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math. At the post-secondary level, it established $200,000 Commonwealth LNG endowments at both SOWELA Technical Community College and McNeese State University to fund college tuition scholarships.

In April, Caturus volunteers joined Cameron Parish personnel for courthouse beautification projects during Keep Louisiana Beautiful’s “Love the Boot” Week, including planting trees, shrubs and other landscaping around the Cameron Parish Courthouse complex.

The Commonwealth LNG facility is a part of Caturus’ wellhead-to-water strategy in building America’s leading independent integrated natural gas company.  The platform comprises Caturus’ upstream operations, with more than 1 Bcfe/d net production across approximately 280,000 net acres in Texas, and Commonwealth LNG’s plans to deliver responsibly sourced fuel to domestic and international markets.

The company’s community investments are intended to extend well beyond the project fence line.
